No cables.
No disruption.
No compromise.
Triple Star installs and maintains the Hyfire Taurus — the UK's most advanced EN54‑25 certified wireless fire alarm system, built for buildings where cabling is impractical, costly, or simply not possible.
BS 5839‑1:2025 requires functional testing of every detector at every service visit. Taurus detectors respond with built-in magnet test and full analogue data reporting — delivering auditable, BS 5839‑1:2025 compliant evidence without aerosol sprays, access equipment, or disruption to your building's occupants.
What wireless fire detection actually changes.
Installing a Taurus system looks — and feels — fundamentally different from a traditional wired project. Here is what that means in practice for your building, your budget, and your occupants.
Installed without decorating your building back to front.
A traditional wired fire alarm requires chasing cables through walls, suspending ceilings, drilling through floors, and making good the fabric of your building when the work is done. Taurus removes up to 90% of that cabling entirely. Detectors, sounders, and call points communicate wirelessly — meaning installation is completed in a fraction of the time with minimal impact on your building's fabric, décor, or day-to-day operations.
Works in buildings where traditional wiring isn't viable.
Listed buildings, heritage sites, solid masonry constructions, occupied residential buildings, and temporary structures all present real obstacles for conventional wired detection. Taurus was engineered for exactly these environments — it is installed in major UK museums, landmark hotels, historic education buildings, and high-rise residential blocks where cabling would be either prohibited or prohibitively expensive.
Retrofits onto your existing fire panel — no rip-and-replace.
If your existing fire alarm panel is still serviceable but your building needs updated or extended detection coverage, the Taurus Conventional Expander Module connects wireless devices to your current conventional wired panel — no panel replacement, no new addressable loop. This makes Taurus one of the most commercially efficient upgrade paths available, particularly for multi-tenanted buildings mid-lease.
Continuous self-monitoring — with the data to prove it.
Every Taurus detector passes full analogue data back to the panel — optical chamber readings, thermal values, wireless link quality, battery voltage, and drift compensation status — continuously, in real time. Under BS 5839‑1:2025, functional testing of every detector is required at every service visit. Taurus's built-in magnet test and comprehensive data record mean that compliance is demonstrated with precision, not paperwork guesswork.
Wireless is no longer a niche solution — it is frequently the most sensible one.
When you account for cabling labour, cable containment, making good, disruption management, and reduced site access time, the total cost of a Taurus installation routinely compares favourably with conventional wired alternatives — and the result is a system with a 10-year battery life on input devices, redundant dual-channel communications, and a fully EN54-25 certified wireless network that is monitored and maintained by Triple Star for the full duration of your contract.
Survey. Install. Commission. Done.
Taurus is designed around a straightforward, tool-assisted process — from initial radio survey through to live commission and handover. Here is how Triple Star delivers it.
Radio Survey & System Design
Before a single device is ordered, Triple Star conducts a thorough on-site radio integrity survey using the Taurus Survey & Test Kit. This maps every channel, confirms signal strength across all planned device positions, and generates a compliant survey report. TauREX's ConfigWizard then guides the optimal system specification — every translator and expander position is confirmed before works begin.
Pre-Programmed Off-Site, Installed On-Site
One of Taurus's most significant commercial advantages is full off-site pre-programming. Every device is configured via TauREX before delivery to site — addresses, zones, sensitivities, and cause-and-effect all set before an engineer arrives. On-site installation time is reduced to physical mounting, the wireless link-up scan via EasyScan, and final commissioning checks. Disruption to your building is kept to an absolute minimum.
Commission, Certify & Maintain
TauREX generates a detailed commissioning report on completion — device positions, signal strengths, battery status, and analogue values all logged. Triple Star's six-monthly service visits under BS 5839‑1:2025 use the built-in magnet test to functionally verify every detector without aerosol or access equipment. The full analogue data record provides auditable, timestamped evidence for your compliance file.
Three detectors. One platform. Every environment.
The Taurus detection range covers optical smoke, heat, and multi-sensor applications — all sharing the same EN54-25 certified wireless protocol, 10-year battery life, and built-in magnet test capability.

Existing panel? No problem. Taurus adds wireless coverage without replacing what's already there.
The Taurus Conventional Expander Module (TAU-CEMD-01) connects wireless detectors, sounders, and call points to your current conventional fire panel — no addressable loop required, no panel swap-out. It is the commercially cleanest upgrade path available for buildings mid-lease, mid-contract, or with panels that still have operational life remaining.
Built for resilience from the ground up.
The Taurus infrastructure is engineered around redundancy at every level — channels, paths, and expander links all have automatic failover. It is a system designed not just to work, but to keep working.

The system's core. Loop-powered. Fully supervised.
The Translator connects directly onto your fire alarm panel's signalling loop and manages all wireless communications with field devices. It runs on 60 channels across Hyfire's NetworkOptimiser platform — automatically steering away from interference and channel collisions, whether on a single-building site or a multi-building campus.
- Up to 128 wireless devices per translator
- SafeSwitch dual-channel redundancy — instant automatic failover if a channel is compromised
- SafePath mesh failover — if any expander fails, transmission reroutes automatically
- Loop-powered or external PSU — no additional wiring infrastructure needed
- Proprietary internal antenna — protected from vandalism and physical damage
- Full analogue data per device; site-programmable via keypad, wireless, or PC
- EN54-17, EN54-18 and EN54-25 approved | UKCA marked

Extend coverage. Maintain redundancy.
Where a single translator cannot reach all device positions — across large floor plates, multi-wing buildings, or basements — the Taurus Expander Module extends the wireless mesh. SafePath automatically identifies the redundant route during commissioning, so the fallback path is confirmed before the system is ever live.
- 32 wireless field devices per expander
- ~1 km open-air communication range — point-to-point
- Dual-channel and dual-path redundancy on all expanders
- SafePath redundant route auto-identified at commissioning
- All expanders fully supervised and panel-monitored
- Internal antenna design — no external components to damage or tamper with
- EN54-18 and EN54-25 approved | UKCA marked
The right system for buildings that can't be cabled conventionally.
Taurus has the largest reference list of any EN54-compliant hybrid wireless system in the UK — deployed across every major building type where traditional wired installation is impractical, expensive, or prohibited.
Heritage & Listed Buildings
Protected structures where wall chasing and surface containment are either prohibited or cost-prohibitive. Taurus is the approved solution in major UK museums, country houses, and grade-listed buildings.
High-Rise Residential
Multi-occupied residential buildings requiring fire detection upgrades without decanting tenants or stripping out communal areas. Taurus installs around residents, not against them.
Healthcare & Care Homes
Occupied clinical and residential care environments where disruption to routine must be minimised. Wireless installation reduces intrusion into patient areas and shortens the overall project duration significantly.
Education
Schools, colleges, and universities where term-time occupation leaves minimal windows for cabling works. Taurus pre-programmed devices can be installed during short holiday periods with commissioning completed in a single day.
Retail & Hospitality
Trading environments where aesthetic finish matters and installations cannot disrupt revenue-generating operations. Black device variants are available for retail, hotel, and architectural fit-outs where standard white is unacceptable.
Commercial Offices
Occupied office environments mid-lease where cabling would require dilapidations, suspended ceiling disruption, and phased works. Taurus is installed around your tenants with no visible containment, no patch-and-paint, no downtime.
The tool that makes a Taurus installation efficient from day one.
TauREX is Hyfire's dedicated survey, installation, commissioning, and maintenance software for the Taurus platform. It is the reason a Taurus installation completes faster, commissions cleaner, and produces better compliance records than a traditional wired project of equivalent scope.
ConfigWizard — optimal design, every site
Guides the engineer through site-specific system specification, identifying optimal translator and expander positions and generating the design report before a device is ordered.
EasyScan — scan and link in seconds
Scans and registers each device onto the network during installation. Devices pre-programmed off-site link up immediately — reducing on-site time to physical mounting and scan.
Automatic compliance reporting
Commissioning and maintenance reports are generated automatically with all analogue data, signal strengths, and test records — ready to hand over to the building owner before we leave site.
